Tesco
The hunt for the right mobile network is surrounded with a lot of ambiguity. No wonder it is so, for the definition of the ‘right mobile network’ is in itself ambiguous. Surprisingly, it’s not always individualistic, as even individuals differ from their own opinion on a mobile network after using another one for a while or maybe after just losing signal when on a trip! So, to just rate Tesco mobiles at one shot wouldn’t be quite productive or helpful. However, here are some of its strong points and weak alike that are of a common opinion by a majority of its users.
Tesco mobile is one of the cheapest deals you can crack in the market of mobile network. The value for money is high (much higher than other contemporaries!). It offers good quality at an astonishing low rate! The tariffs suits wallets of all sizes. Three of the most in vogue choices of tariffs are as follows:
- Value tariff: It’s the simplest possible option in mobile network. If you are one of them who just need some basic facilities in order to stay connected than this tariff choice is like a boon for you. There are no fancy stuffs attached to it i.e. no internet or picture messaging. The Mobile Phone won’t work abroad with this tariff plan, its UK’s very own phone kind-of phone! (Multimedia freaks may scoff it straight away!). The call charges are 15p/minute and text messaging would reduce your balance by 5p/minute.
- Standard tariff: The charges are slightly higher in this plan. 20p/minute for calls and 10p/minute for text messaging. But wait! It gives you the liberty of calling abroad and also brings on all those ‘cool’ features with it. A bonus of sorts is the offer of half price for calls and texts to 3 numbers in UK. Ideally, this is for the average income (or average spending!) ‘cool’ citizen of UK. Is it you?
- Extra tariff: A juxtaposition of the above two tariffs. It offers the rates of the ’value’ tariff and the features of Standard tariffs like internet, picture messaging etc, but to stay on the tariff of ‘value’ you ought to pay a monthly 15 pound sterling.
The ‘pay as you go’ phones of Tesco are the faring well in the market. Good handsets of leading mobile manufacturers like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung etc are available for reasonable prices along with a Tesco SIM.
By looking at the tariffs, anyone would agree of the reasonable pricing of Tesco. What’s further impressive is its good reception and clarity in various parts of UK. So network coverage isn’t a bother with Tesco. However, Tesco too has some downslides. Maybe to compensate on the low tariffs or whatever, it does miss out on some features like the ‘stop the clock’, which saves a lot of money too! Even the advertising of Tesco hasn’t been the best seen during recent times. I am a staunch believer of mobile choices being personal depending on one’s own needs, however opting for Tesco is a worthy recommendation and it deserves an overall four and a half star rating as a mobile network.
