Sagem my401X Phones
Sagem my401X is a entry-level skinny candy bar form phone with many features, yet middle to low end handsets and seems to have struggled to pick up many network resellers.
Pros: Ultra -slim candy form designed, 0.3 mega pixels (VGA) Camera, Bluetooth, Infrared connectivity, Polyphonic ringtones, Java, uploadable games MIDP 2.0.
Cons: No FM Radio, No memory expansion, No video recording, lack of internal memory and a poor-quality screen with no LED photo light, flimsy battery cover.
Sagem my401X, the upgraded model of the my301x is a noticeable candy bar handset falls into both business and casual user's categories but in total a good value for money. To put its dimensions of 105 x 15 x 46mm with weight just 90 g feels very light definitely fit in your pocket easily. Smooth, shiny and supreme quality plastic has been used in designing the phone’s cover which makes it scratch-proof. The Sagem my301X model lacks this feature.
Sagem My401x comes with features Bluetooth, IR, WAP browser, GPRS, 0.3 pixel camera and colour screen with 65000 colours. The keypad has rectangular metal navigation keys, which is new. In spite of the presence of blue backlight, the centre of the keypad does not get illuminated, also keypad are noisy, however, making a clicking sound with each press that isn't suitable for covert messaging!
As it supports a WAP browser and GPRS, you can browse through websites without a computer. Phone though it looks good, does not carry great features like those seen in the newer models of other mobile phones. Both, the low pixel resolution just about 0.3 and the poor screen resolution of only 128x160, block this Mobile Phone camera from capturing the intended quality images. It is fit for only capturing the contact shots and sending the MMS.
Sagem my401X has all the regular text messaging features with basic features like personal organiser, voice reminders besides text ones. You can even create text and voice memos for the events, a currency exchange rate calculator and two Java-games. Arcade Gulo’s Tales and adventure Lords of the Rings are also available. All the features you'd expected from a mid-range phone. Additional Java-application can be uploaded only via WAP.
The battery life of Mobile Phone is quite good; it lasts for about 7 days or more on standby. And for heavy users the talk time is ideal, at an average of 4 hrs.
Over all, a sophisticated mobile phone which is not over-complicated, simply to make calls, send messages and use a Bluetooth headset with, then the Sagem my401X is near perfect. But it does suffer from a severe lack of internal memory and a poor-quality screen. On the contrary it does have some flaws, but overall it's a good buy!
