HTC S740 Phones

The latest offering of HTC comes in the form of HTC S740, designed on similar lines of some of HTC’s good products TouchPro and TouchDiamond. One of the huge differences between S740 and the previously mentioned products is that S740 is a non-touch screen smart phone and that comes across as quite an uncommon occurrence for a smart phone.

The design is exuberantly striking with a classic piano black color. It’s sleek to as far one can expect and truly resembles a black diamond. Some call it’s the successor of the S730, mainly due to the similar form factor. Yes, it’s a slider phone with a sufficiently wide QWERTY keyboard and showcases the usual 12 numeric keypad when closed. The QWERTY keyboard consists only 4 rows unlike some other models of HTC that contains 5 rows.

Based on the windows mobile 6.1 standard operating system HTC S730 features one of the fastest broadband capabilities in a mobile with a maximum download speed of 7.2 MBPS. A 3.2 mega pixel camera is available but without an auto-focus and a separate VGA camera is facilitated for video calling. This slim phone is a quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and a dual band 900/2100 MHz UMTS/HSDPA. The Mobile Phone also features an integrated GPS/AGPS, microSD slot, an internal memory of 256 MB RAM and 256 MB flash, 2.0 Bluetooth with EDR, WLAN, HTC extUSB i.e. mini USB and audio jack in one port and a 2.4’ inch QVGA display. The chipset is Qualcomm MSM7225, 528 MHz.

One of the best smart phones, with few missing features like the auto focus and touch screen. The pricing is expected to be around $622.
